This was a dead empty courtyard space overlooked by the new kitchen and dining extension of a family house in North Dublin.
The space was transformed into a lush green courtyard with an exotic feel enhanced by the tree ferns. Central to the design was the corten steel reflecting pool which adds interest while reflecting light to this outdoor space. Water here also instills an immediate sense of calm and tranquility while the dominant green planting brings a lovely freshness to this space that is complemented by the earthy tones of the water feature and the larch slatted backdrop screening. Bespoke tapered steel hedge bookends were installed as an architectural feature adding further interest to this small courtyard garden.
