Project Description

This was a medium suburban garden in Stillorgan, County Dublin. The client’s brief was to create a family friendly contemporary garden with architectural  landscaping. The garden was designed on three levels with wide steps linking the different patio levels laid in grey limestone paving. A small grass lawn was laid on the top patio as a play area for the children’s trampoline. A custom-made steel pergola was installed as an architectural feature at the back of the garden to complement the brise-soleil on the house extension.  A cantilevered hardwood bench was built into the back raised bed wall that was planted with a single row of bamboo trees, adding softness and movement to the back wall. A splash of blue colour (F&B Stiffkey Blue) on the back wall was introduced to give a focal point to the garden, bringing the architectural features and planting together.  Contemporary lighting was also installed.
