Project Description

This is a large suburban garden located close to the coast in Greystones, Co. Wicklow. The client needed a complete garden redesign after the installation of a Shomera studio. The design brief was to build a family friendly garden that would also accommodate large social gatherings and look good all year round. The materials used for the paving were machine cut granite and limestone which complement each other but also differentiate areas in the garden. A large circle of artificial grass forms the heart of the garden and is bounded by a sweeping white wall to add movement and also acts as extra seating. The feature plants used include three large evergreen oaks, an evergreen magnolia and a large olive tree that is under planted with a mix of agapanthus, grasses and other plants that are suitable for the coastal location.
